Another week, another fair! This time I was taking part in a health event at Kingsgate Resource Centre. With me was 69-year-old Peter Doiley, who is Camden Connector's newest volunteer and Ambassador. Peter was introduced to the project just before Christmas last year.

Due to a bereavement Peter had become isolated and lacking in confidence. However, with the support of regular volunteer visits, Peter now finds himself with renewed vigour and confidence and wants to give "back to the community".

Peter's first step was an interesting morning working with me on our Camden Community Connectors stall, meeting and greeting visitors and informing people what was going on in Camden.

Peter really enjoyed the morning and is keen to do more voluntary work for the project.

If you can spend just two hours once a week volunteering with us, you too could help older people continue to access local facilities and carry on with their passions, hobbies and engage with others.
